* PREMIER DIV DRESS-CODE - black shoes (black runners may be worn with NO other colours or markings only full black), black pants (no denim) & team shirt.
No hats to be worn during play and team shirts must be visible during play also (no jackets or jumpers over tops during play). |

** UMPIRES - a few umpires not provided again this week, on both nights. Please ensure any non-finalist teams provide 2 Umpires next week (on the night your division plays), for both weeks 3 & 4 Finals, including from any teams knocked out of finals.
** DRESS-CODE - 3 players and 3 umpires turned up in wrong attire this week, incorrect pants.
Please ensure all WINTER FINALS players and umpires are aware of CORRECT WINTER FINALS dress-code!!
** Will NOT be permitted to play/umpire if not in Finals dress-code!!!
** Please don't come up to the Exec desk and complain, argue etc if you're wearing wrong attire (such as,,, blue pants, grey pants, charcoal pants, or any color jeans) and told you're not permitted to play/umpire.
** MUST BE "BLACK" SLACKS/TROUSERS/PANTS, NOT jeans, NOT cargo pants, NOT tracksuit pants, etc, & NOT any other color except for BLACK !
Winter Finals dress-code has been this way for many years now!
** DRESS-CODE EXEMPTION - if need to wear NON-finals dress-code attire due to medical condition / personal reasons, please ensure you or your club applies to EDPL for a DRESS-CODE EXEMPTION PRIOR to finals, & that the exemption is already issued to you (before playing/umpiring).
** Rack-Em-Up sells HOT FOOD.... pies, sausage rolls, schnitzel rolls, burgers, snacks etc.

Combined DDPL/EDPL Premier Div Finals are being run by DDPL this year.
Here's the information provided by DDPL for Prems Finals....
VENUE: Freccia Azzura Club (Springvale Road, Keysborough)
DATES: Tuesdays in September...
3rd - Elimination
10th - Qualifying
17th - Preliminary
24th - Grand Final
UMPIRES:

TIME: 7.30pm start time please DO NOT be late.

Hi EDPL Clubs & Members...
All this week’s scoresheet player stats have been now entered, & the Winter Season stats completed !
Therefore, we have now updated the player points values, to be used for this coming Summer Season, & next Winter.
THE UPDATED PLAYER POINTS VALUES ARE NOW LIVE ON THE EDPL WEBSITE !
However, all this current Winter Finals teams need to keep using their current winter player point values, that were used this winter, to calculate team points totals for finals.
Clubs were requested to keep a record of their current WINTER player's points values, if required, to check not exceeding caps in finals.
(EDPL has a record of all finals teams CURRENT winter points, to check finals teams don’t exceed point caps, please let us know urgently if you need to check any particular players current points for finals).

| EDPL SUMMER SEASON 2024-25 |
The following documents have been emailed to all Clubs’ Execs & are also available on EDPL website

Summer Team applications close Monday 30th September.
The updated 2024-25 player points will be utilized (available after the last match of winter season player stats have been entered this week).
No team submitted can be more than 100 points in total.
Teams will be allocated into divisions, AFTER all team applications have been received, & THEN divisional points caps, “new” point value, & “forfeit” point value will be announced.

| EDPL Presentation Night 2024 - Flyer |

• DATE: Saturday 16th November
• HELD: Dorset Gardens Hotel
• COST: $70.00 per head
Tickets will be issued to clubs at the Delegates Meeting this coming Monday 12th August.
Ticket sales close on Friday 1st November (as we need to give final numbers to Dorset 2 weeks prior).
So… please sell tickets to your club members, & return the “Sold” ticket list, & any “unsold” tickets to EDPL by 4pm Friday 1st November.
There will be NO tickets available after that closing date !
Please notify EDPL of any special dietary requirements and allergies.
IF you sell all your club’s allocated tickets, please contact EDPL & more tickets may be available.
Tickets can be sold to current registered EDPL members, & their partner/friend accompanying the member, for $70 per head (so NOT just sold to anyone/others, as the ticket price is subsidized by EDPL).
If more than 1 accompanying person wishes to attend, then the FULL cost will be charged to any extras ($100ea) |

| Captains don't need IR Accreditation |
There's still some glitches with the online INTERNATIONAL RULES UMPIRES TEST. Therefore, EDPL will NOT be enforcing By-Law 8.18 this current Winter Season (as already notified last month), OR for this coming Summer Season either.
By-Law 8.18...
"Captains of all teams playing in EDPL controlled competitions shall be Accredited Umpires. Players nominated as Captains who are not accredited shall become so within 4 weeks of the start of any playing season. The EDPL Executive Committee shall advertise and hold an Umpire Testing Course within the first 4 weeks of any new season commencing and where possible prior to the start of any season"
EDPL Members do NOT have to pass the IR Umpires Test to be a team captain, this current Winter Season OR for the coming Summer Season.
Some members are still opting to do the IR Umpires Test online, for their own knowledge and benefit, but this is purely optional.
EDPL encourages all members to read the International Rules and be familiar with them.

Winter Finals Qualifying – Reminder: Qualifying = 50% +1 (rounded down) of scheduled matches (some incorrect on website)
* Prem Div = 10 matches
* 1st Div = 9 matches
* 2nd Div = 12 matches
* 3rd Div = 11 matches
* 4th Div = 11 matches
(Please Note: Prems & 1st Div wrong on website in "Finals Eligibility" section, as the website has counted the "BYE" as a match/week).
Please refer to EDPL By-Laws 13 & 14 for more information regarding Finals & Qualifying criteria. |

| Parking at Bayswater Hotel |
Bayswater Hotel.... currently the car-park out the back is all blocked off.
Players can park at the front of Bayswater Hotel or near the BWS drive-through, and still enter the normal sports-bar entrance (by foot), or walk through the bistro area, but can't park out the very back (near smoking area) as it's all blocked off at the moment.
Please ensure your players know if they're playing at Bayswater Hotel.

EDPL By-law 4.5.3...
"All EDPL members participating or umpiring in a Premier Division home and away match must wear black slacks, black business shoes and a club shirt"
However, EDPL & DDPL have now agreed to also allow "ALL BLACK RUNNERS" in Premier Div matches!
ALL BLACK RUNNERS must have NO white or color (wording, pattern, trim) they must be ALL BLACK, including the part of the sole at the bottom that is visable, & the laces.
Please ensure your Premier Div players are aware of this :-) |

There are now 4 pub venues where matches MUST START AT 7PM!
* BAYSWATER HOTEL
* DORSET GARDENS HOTEL
* MITCHAM HOTEL
* MOUNTAIN VIEW HOTEL
MUST start at 7:00pm, as per venue management request.
Could you please ensure all players know, who play any matches at these 4 venues!
We highly recommend that ALL matches at ALL venues can start at 7pm, as per EDPL By-law 8.7...
"Matches shall commence prior to 7.30pm [earlier starts, i.e. from 7.00pm are to be encouraged]."
We've heard some matches are starting AFTER 7:30pm, which is too late, & in breach of the By-law!

| DONATIONS – towards the future of EDPL |
DONATIONS – towards the future of EDPL
On and off for many years the EDPL has been considering whether it should look at purchasing a property and providing a venue for pool competition.
Since COVID, this has become more of a priority as many pubs and clubs are restricting the use of their tables for competition and recent events at Potters has highlighted this issue.
As part of the 5-year plan, consideration is being given as to whether it is possible for EDPL to participate in the purchase of a pool venue however it depends on the level of support from within the membership base.
One approach is to create a facility to receive tax deductible donations from interested members.
Our aim is to raise funds that, together with borrowings, will enable the purchase of a property to be fitted out as a modern venue for the use of the EDPL members and the local community.
All donations of more than $1,000 (in total) will be acknowledged as part of this project.
We encourage every member to take up the opportunity to contribute to the future health of Eight Ball by making a tax-deductible donation.
